The site, in the Harbor Point section of Stamford, opened on Monday, March 15, said officials with Stamford Health.
The site is located at 1 Elmcroft Road, at the Building and Land Technology building, where the former Pitney Bowes Headquarters used to be.
The organization's first site, at the Wheeler Building at Stamford Hospital, will continue to offer vaccines as well.
Stamford Mayor David Martin said the second site will allow the city to ramp up its vaccinations: “It is vital we make every resource available to deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to Stamford’s community as fast as possible,” Martin said.
Vaccinations are currently being scheduled for all individuals in Phases 1a and 1b who work or live in Connecticut:
- Individuals 75 years of age and older
- Individuals 65-74 years of age
- Individuals 55-64 years of age
- Educators and child care providers
Appointments are needed and because of the great demand, it may take a while to get an appointment, officials said.
Those eligible to get vaccinated can make an appointment using the Stamford Health website here.
